Northern Utah Fine Art School Portraits

I offer fine art school photography throughout Salt Lake, Davis, and Weber Counties for schools looking for something more personal than traditional school pictures. Using a simple black or white backdrop and a relaxed approach, I focus on making each child comfortable so I can capture their real expressions and personality. Working with kids is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer, and my goal is to create beautiful, natural portraits that families will genuinely want to print and keep.
My Northern Utah school portrait process is professional and organized from start to finish, with minimal work required from school staff. Children’s privacy is also a top priority. Galleries are delivered securely to families, images are handled carefully, and a child’s portrait is never used publicly without permission.
For schools in Salt Lake County, Davis County, and Weber County, fine art school portraits are a simple way to offer families something unique and high quality while giving each child a school photo that actually feels like them.

FAQ
How are fine art portraits different from traditional school photos?
Fine art school portraits offer families a more personal and flexible experience than traditional school pictures. Instead of receiving a single pre-selected pose, each child will have a small gallery of 2–5 carefully edited portraits, with images presented in both color and black and white. Families can choose the images they love most and decide what they’d like to print and display.
Families will also have access to high-quality print and product options, including canvas gallery wraps, as well as digital images they can keep for future printing and archiving. Before portrait day, I’ll provide the school with an easy-to-follow PDF covering everything families need to know, from how to prepare their child for photo day to viewing their gallery and placing an order.
Is there a cost to the school?
No, my services are free to the school. Parents only pay if they decide to order.
Do you provide staff photos?
Yes, all staff will also have the opportunity to get their portrait taken on photo day. I also provide a 50% discount for staff on all of their orders.
What about class photos and yearbooks?
Group class photos can be arranged, either on photo day or on another day scheduled specifically for groups. However, most schools decide to compile a class composite of individual portraits for their yearbook.
Schools are provided free digital downloads of all galleries for use in yearbooks, student ID's, or any other use the school may have for them.
Where are photos taken?
I use natural light and a simple backdrop setup for all of my fine art portraits. Before picture day I will visit your school to choose the best location for photos to take place. This usually ends up being a small classroom or common space within the school, or somewhere outdoors on the school grounds.
How long will it take for families to receive their photos?
Prints are delivered directly to the school for distribution to families within 4 weeks of picture day.
Do you work with homeschool groups and private schools?
Absolutely! As a homeschooling mama myself, I absolutely love working with alternative schools to provide a unique and specialized school photo experience.
What time of year do you do school portraits?
Portraits can be taken in any month during the school calendar year. I work with schools individually to schedule a time that works best for them.
